Longfellow New Tech Elementary

Working together we all can learn

We are a PBIS School!

PBIS or PAWS as it is called at Longfellow is a decision-making framework that is used to increase academic performance, decrease problem behavior, and establish a positive school climate. At Longfellow we focus on acknowledging students for positive behavior. Routines and language with respect to appropriate school behavior are consistent throughout the school. School-wide expectations are taught to all students and practiced to ensure understanding. Students are rewarded for following the rules. We also take into account issues of race, ethnicity, and culture in our PAWS framework to ensure that our plan benefits all groups of students. Our goal is to create an environment in which positive behavior "works better" than problem behaviors for all students.
