Mrs. Donsbach’s 1st grade class celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on September 29!

They were happy to share their stories about their heritage, their families, and even a few words they knew in Spanish! Ms. Sgambelluri, the district librarian, presented a slide show about the culture of Spain. The kids were surprised to learn that Spain is 4,317 miles from Gary, Indiana.

Students listened to “The Story of Ferdinand” and were happy to listen to some flamenco music at the end of the presentation.

Mrs. Whah’s class, Ms. Sullivan’s class, Ms. Chance’s class, and Ms. Crystall Bustillos’ class also heard the presentation.  Mrs. Whah’s class even played bingo with some of the vocabulary from the story.

Happy Hispanic Heritage month to all!
